Revealed AMD GCN Polaris 12 Polaris 10 XT2 and Vega 10 GPUs-Spotted in Upcoming MacOS Drivers
AMD GCN Polaris 12 Polaris 10 XT2 and Vega 10 GPUs Leaked. AMD is the second-highest supplier in the market. In 2006, AMD purchased ATI and conquered the GPU market. Now AMD might be working on upcoming graphics cards to introduce the new version of Polaris GPU in it. Upcoming MacOS drivers that AMD has intended two new Polaris Chips.
Latest MacOS Drivers highlighted about the new chips which are:
- POLARIS 12
- POLARIS 10 XT2
- VEGA 10
It was revealed that the three of them are prepared for the launch in future. Let me briefly explain you about the three of them.As you know AMD’s Polaris is a new graphics architecture including amazing features and enhancements for every area of a graphics chip providing good performance.
POLARIS 12 GPU
Polaris 12 was named so because it came after Polaris 11. It is not very influential than the Polaris 1 and Polaris 11. An important thing to guess here is that why is AMD planning to release two new chips with Vega 10. Maybe AMD is planning to produce a new Radeon family. This family might be including the AMD’s Vega GPUs having HBM2 (High-bandwidth second generation) ready to flaunt the market.
POLARIS 10 XT2 GPU
Polaris 10 XT2 GPU will be an update to the previous version Polaris 10. It is not much surprising to know that Polaris 10 XT2 is a dual Polaris 10 branded for Radeon RX 485 and Radeon RX 475. It provides enhanced features including; improved clock speeds and effectiveness. It would be a chip with good performance. In Radeon 400 and Radeon 500 series this chip could be easily presented
VEGA 10 GPU
Lastly, we have VEGA 10 GPU. It is making its debut in the drivers market in 2017. AMD is thinking to upgrade all their GPUs to the latest FinFET architecture. Vega 10 will target the high-end market and the two Polaris chips will provide services to the mainstream. Based on the new GCN uARCH (GFX9), the Vega 10 can provide up to 4096 streams. This chip contains 24 TFLOPs providing half-precision and 12 TFLOPs providing single precision computing performance. Moreover, it provides 16 GB of HBM2 designed to operate at 512 GB/s. The cards using this chip are designated to 255W TDP. Developers are planning to launch it in the quarter of 2017. We are waiting to see it in markets in the coming year.
