G.Skill Trident Z 32GB DDR4-3200 CAS 16 Quad-DIMM Kit: The advantage of four DIMMs is not only the ability to support quad-channel platforms but also, there is a price difference per gigabyte over high density DRAM ICs, Lower-density DRAM ICs still have a noticeable per-gigabyte price advantage. Now, 4x 8GB (32GB) test kit with DDR4-3200 data rate is available in the market while at the same time finding 2x16GB(32GB) is not possible in the stock. And reason why buyers tend to buy quad channel motherboard i.e. Z170 test board whose four slots are filled, over dual channel motherboard is slightly higher performance difference.

Ram is semi-automatically configured by XMP, to 1.35V voltage level, 3200 MHz data rate and 16-16-16-36 timing. XMP configures these settings by firmware switch. Some motherboards has onboard firmware switch that without entering into GUI, directly enable these settings.

Some 4x8GB Kits are tested at G.Skill while some aren’t. Adata’s XPG Z1 DDR4-2400 is the fastest as compared to others.DDR4-3200 kit recently tested for Corsair. There are many 4x 4GB kits in the G.Skill stock, including the G.Skill DDR4-3600 kit used for motherboard overclocking.

The Trident-Z DDR4-3200 kit becomes even more impressive when we consider that it’s twice the capacity at 32GB as compared to previously-stubborn Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4-3200 which leaps to DDR4-363. And that is the the reason for selecting Skylake, and particularly the Z170X-Gaming G1 motherboard, for each memory kit’s maximum data.
